UNDERGRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT

FALL SEMESTER 2017 & 2018

I worked as a TA three times in both the History and English department.

During the fall semester of 2017, I was a TA for Siobhan Vivian's Writing Youth Literature and Tony Novosel's History of Modern Ireland class. My responsibilities in the classes differed.

For the English class, I read weekly submissions, made editing suggestions, and wrote a critique for the students. During the class, with the help of another TA, we ran one of the two critique sessions. We were tasked with focusing on areas of improvement and keeping the critique group focused and engaged.

As a TA for my History course I held office hours and typed up weekly lecture notes. I also made myself available for students to ask questions.

In the fall semester of 2018, I again TA'd for Tony Novosel. The course was the History of Northern Ireland. Some of my blogs from my study abroad experience in Ireland were used as supplemental material.

RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE - T-MOBILE

JULY 2016 - MAY 2018

For nearly two years I worked as an RSA at a T-Mobile Store in Oakland while attending school. The job allowed me to gain valuable retail, sales, and technological skills.

Our location was the training store for our district, meaning my managers and my co-workers and I helped train new employees. I enjoyed this aspect of my position especially.

I left the job so I could study abroad in Ireland over the summer.
